What a fight. So much for Machida being boring. I know a lot of guys wanted to see BJ vs. GSP, but this was the fight I was most interested about, and what a finish. The video may be up for just a few moments so watch it as soon as you can.

Can anyone stop Machida? The fight with Jackson should be a beast.

More Heartbreak for Rich Franklin

Rich Franklin is one of the top MMA artists in the world. At the same time, he has had too many heartbreaks in his career. His losses to Anderson Silva were devastating. Just as he was getting ready to commit to the 205 division, he loses a tough decision to Henderson. But perhaps his most devastating loss came to Lyoto Machida (possibly the next guy to take on Rashad Evans).

I personally think Machida is currently the toughest opponent for anyone in that division. But the way he beat Rich Franklin shows the potential fireworks that we can get in his matches. Rich Frankin is a great MMA fighter but he doesn’t seem capable of beating the elite. Maybe he’ll get a chance against a Liddell or W. Silva.

Whatever Happened to Heath Herring?

Heath Herring is one of those guys who is cursing his fortunes after he dropped his last fight to Brock Lesnar. Brock now gets to fight for the undisputed heavyweight title whereas Heath goes to the back of the line behind the likes of Kongo and Gonzaga. There are rumors that Heath may fight one of these new up and comer guys but the way he knocked out Yoshihiro “Kiss” Nakao, he should have no trouble holding his own as the gatekeeper of the heavyweight division.

The finish by Rashad was absolutely vicious. I really felt bad for Liddell. I know he is a tough guy, and he is used to knocking people out like that but he was just devastated by that punch. Rashad’s showboating was much worse than Lesnar’s. I don’t know why he gets a free pass on that, but I thought his behavior towards this legend was disgusting throughout. I wonder if Liddell insulted him like Herring did Lesnar.

Most Painful Knockout Ever?

I first saw this video on best damn knockouts ever. The guy just gets dropped by the punch and I think he got a concussion or something for his troubles. I thought it was funny and sad at the same time to see him moan like that after the fight. It doesn’t look as if he was hit that hard, but by the way he sounded after the fight, it must’ve been a heck of a punch.

I have never seen get knocked out with this strange technique. I am not even sure if it’s doable 100% of the time. But nevertheless an Amazon backward flying kick!
